YAY!!! That is great news.
Have fun at the conference.

I wonder who you have to beg, bribe, or blackmail to have someone let you use one of the sims or do some extra 'camp-like' stuff while you are there? ;-) :D Do you think any of that would be included in the conference?

Or... you could sign up for one of the week(end) Adult Academy programmes while you are there.

You can see the new training centre just like you could see it back in 1998, from the railing beside the UAT. There are more things to block your view though. Things have changed so much! Your best view would be to take the elevator up to the offices and take the hallway at the right over to the top of the UAT. You COULD go in the UAT... hehehe... well... at least you could get up there... Be sure to bring your camera! The view is spectacular. They also added the AstroTrek building/bubble thing behind Pathfinder near the trees. It is full of the smaller sims: 1/6th gravity chairs, MATs, and MMUs. You could check it out during breakfast before all the daily mayhem begins.

Hint: see if you can find a counsellor on here who will take you for a tour when they are off-duty! i.e. PM them all until they agree to it. <evil grin>

I guess the only place truly unaccessible is the ISS MOCR (formerly the MARS Rover lab) because there is no elevator, just stairs.

Also, have an amazing time with the international educators. I am sure there is a wealth of information they can share with you. There is also an educator advanced academy programme going on from 19-24 July. You will have to tell us about it all when you return. :-)

A message if you're going to sneak up to the UAT: there are curtains up there, now, so you might not be able to get a good view of everything as you'd expect... but if you make it that far, I'm sure you'll be able to find a window or something to see the floor.

Good mention. The curtains are only around the main UAT area. They do not cover the catwalk from the UAT to the offices. I took my MCC/TCF photos from up there. It is possible...

I guess the only other good viewing/photo points are from the corporate classroom to the left as you get off the elevator (they have a window, like MNathaniel sais) and from the MCC/TCF floor itself. Speaking of which, your educator's meeting will likely be in the corporate classroom. At the very least, you can get a (virtual) tour of the place from up there.

Don't mind me... I'm happy because you get to go back after such a long time away. I know how excited I was to go back, so I can imagine how excited you must be!

I am leaving August 5th, but I am working constantly until then.
I won't have time to show you around; I apologize.
This week: Hyperion nights, support weekend.
Next week: Europa days, Pathfinder nights, Parent Child weekends.
Final week: Deimos team doubles.

WHY can I not get AWAY from ACADEMY teams?
Not that it's a bad program; I'm just tired of doing the same thing all the time. Good thing they trained me on Advanced..... and then didn't schedule me for it.
