ok, maybe it's because it's been 2 years since i was at camp last, or maybe it's because i'm doing the 12 day thing next week, but i don't remember getting a letter from camp the week before my session before. is this new? or is it just a 12 day thing? it just took me by surprise today was all.

Dear Katie,

Congratulations! On behalf of our training team, I am pleased to welcome you to Space Camp's Consolidated Astronuat Training Session, Advanced Program.

You have been selected for this program becaouse of your demonstrated enthusiasm for space science, as well as your exemplary involvement in the community. We are looking for intelligent, team-oriented explorers to carry our nation into the new age of space exploration: we are confident that you fit that description.

Your introductory briefing begins on Sunday, June 26. Here you will meet the training staff and learn the details of your training assignment. Your training will include confidential information about the accelerated Low Earth Orbit missions that will prepare us for human exploration of the Moon and Mars.

When you have completed initial training, you will have the opportunity to qualify for a position on a special LEO mission designed to test technologies for human exploration of our solar system.

This is the dawn of a very exciting era in space exploration. We find ourselves challenged to advance humankind by sending explorers to explore the moon more deeply, and set foot on Mars for the first tiem, within the next 20 years. We are honored to have your skills and enthusiasn to start us on our wat toward this goal. I look forward to meeting you on Sunday.

Sincerely,

Melissa M. Snider
Training Coordinator
