it cost about $1200 for everything, including all sorts of mounting supplies, right now the computer lives in the back seat, im mounting it in the trunk and building an enclosure (sp?) to protect it from cargo and the 10 inch sub. compared to most people who do this, my setup cost a lot less cause im trying to do the whole thing myself, with the custom work it could possibly run $3,000 or more for a professional install

Just out of curiosity what benifit do you get from having a dvd player in your dashboard? I mean i understand the gps and the mp3 but dvd just seems a little... dangerous.

Yes entertainment. Not so much for more distractions. On my way to class today one green jeep crossed the yellow line into my lane. One vehicle pulled out in front of me whilst i was driving through rush hour. And yet one more vehicle nearly rear ended me. At least two and most likely three of these possible accidents were likely caused by distractions. How on earth could one possibly benifit from dvd players in their dashboard? Again the gps is cool as is the mp3 (while still a distraction) but dvds are a baaad idea.

im not planing on attempting to watch movies while driving, thats just stupid, il save that for when im parked. my friends and i live out of our cars so for me, the dvd does make sense, we spend some evenings in random parking lots doing whatever.

I learned how to drive in baltimore washington rush hour, ive seen almost every stupid thing anyone can do and have thusfar in almost 5 years driving experience (including permit) have never been in an accident or pulled over, i consider myself a safe driver

I'm just glad you dont intend to drive and watch the movies at the same time... I've heard stranger things. In which case i think its a pretty cool idea if you have the money to spend. :D

Mine's all messed up too. I finally got everything put away last night after getting moved in and got more sleep than the previous two nights combined.

I'm back from my summer/autumn adventures. They now call me Mrs. SpaceCanada, as I got married on 24 September and took a trip to Hawai'i with my now-husband shortly thereafter.

Grats on getting married. Where in Hawaii? I spent a month on Maui this summer. That was a nice break for me.
I have been to space camp four times and i hope to go to adult camp when i am over 21.

We took a cruise ship from Vancouver to Hawai'i, where we stopped at four cities on three islands. We went kayaking and snorkelling in Kona, Hawai'i (big island). We went to Volcano National Park and Rainbow Falls while we were in Hilo, Hawai'i (big island). In Lahaina, Maui we went on a dolphin and snorkel adventure and then tried our hand at surfing (heaps fun!). Honolulu, Oahu was our last stop: we went to Diamond Head, Hanauma Bay, and Pearl Harbour. I think Maui was our favourite island, seconded by the big island. Can't say we liked Oahu much - too commercialised for our liking. Overall, it was a great trip indeed!
