Digital Cameras
At ASA last year, I brought a few disposable cameras despite the fact that I owned a digital... while there, I concluded that it would be safe for me to bring my Canon Powershot a75 to camp this year... my question is this... would it be OK, do you think, to bring my Digital Rebel? I really like it, as it doesn't have that crazy annoying digital-camera time delay, and it also has all the shooting modes so that I could freely photograph things at different exposures and whatnot. It would be a risk, I know, but I'm thinking that as long as I keep it on me or in my locker it'd probably be safe, but I thought I'd ask for a few second opinions... what do you think?

I brought my prized posession non-digital SLR and tripod to camp with me. Nearly everyone else had digital cameras or digital video cameras. It is well worth bringing the best camera you own. Like everyone says, use common sense, lock it up at night (because you will want it every moment of the day) and take care of it so it will not break or get lost.
Of course, when you get home, be sure to post all your pictures at the Hab1 Photo Portal! Speaking of which... did anyone ever post Christmas Camp photos, or LB206's astronaut candidate photo?

Oh lord. I would just about kill for a digital rebel... I guess if you're careful with it you'll probably be fine. I never bring my digital because its SLR shaped and consequently rather large. It probably wouldnt be a real big problem but its far too loved by me to get broken...

I'm not afraid of breakage... I'm thinking I might bring the Rebel, though I'm still not quite sure... but oh, how I love how much like a regular camera that one feels... plus, I love the quality and all... yeah, I'm very tempted to take it. I guess I'll just have to make a choice... we'll see.

digital camera
During winter break nothing happened to my digital camera and I intend on bringing it to camp in the summer so it should be fine to take it.

Hey! Theres a bunch of us from Atlantis hanging around here.
About the digital cameras Just make sure to bring extra batteries and more than enough memory! Thats the other reason i never bring mine... I only have 16mb of memory and because its xD digital memory i'm too poor to buy more.

I do actually have a digital camera, but I can't seem to figure out how to work it correctly. The pictures are always washed out, I have given up on adjusting the settings.
About bringing a digital camera to camp... I don't think that it will get stolen. If anything, it is more likely to get lost. I don't want to begin to count how many cameras I have seen go into the trash cans in the cafeteria at camp.
