Stress Relief

Post by psych0rabbit »

What are some things you do to relax and calm yourself when you're stressed out, or know you're about to go into a really stressful situation? I've been told I'm too stressed, so I need things to try.

Thanks!

Muzak! :D

The trick is to close your eyes and engulf yourself fully in the music. Try to hear every single beat/cymbol tap/guitar chord/bass note.... you get the point. Dont think about anything else but what you are hearing in the music and you'll lose the world around you for a bit. A good song to try that with is Clocks by Coldplay.

Also, you could always meditate or if you can pay attention reading is good too.

I like to read, but I get distracted too easily. My mind doesn't stay focused on the book, I think about other things.

Well, in that case try the music thing. In addition to feeling a little less stressed its actually quite fun! I know, i know i sound crazy lol but if you can manage to think only about the music its a very enjoyable experience!

That is something I can do. I can put all focus into music pretty easily.

Did you make yourself a little panel or are you just flipping little switches in your mind? Because the second option is likely to get you institutionalized.

Invisible panels. But wouldn't carying around electrical panels wherever you go get you into a psych ward too?

Tim, you already qualify. You might as well make panels and carry them in ur bag.

The only trouble with this is that, if I did it, I'd be poking my walls popping the bubbles when I got stressed and eventually my wallpaper would be deflated :P
