Yes, the only reason I ever went to private school was because I was going to be bored out of my mind in public school. But I do have some friends who are in a special magnet school that is probably just as good as my school. I like having one computer for every kid here and I also like having small class sizes and a small total population. There are 650 kids at my school in 6 grades.

I would love to have gone to a private school throughout school but unfortunately we just couldnt afford it.

That's the same reason I'm in a private school. Some of the honors programs around here though are probably about as good.

Our city just opened up its first magnet school a few years ago. I would have liked to go there and robably could have but it didnt open till after i'd graduated high school and it was a middle school anyway.

I could be totaly wrong but i believe its a public school gearted toward gifted students. I know here you have to aply to go to it and i believe there is even a waiting list.

Magnet schools are a way to bring people from all around the area to a certain school (usually in a low-income area) in order to meet their quotas for a racially-mixed school.

Thats not the impression i get of our magnet school so maybe there are diffrenbt types. I know some of the students at the magnet school here and they dont fit that category.

Our magnet schools are usually for the smart kids that were really bored in their other school. Benji, are you sure you aren't thinking of charter schools? Wait, maybe Im wrong. What exactly are charter schools? I have a general idea but not a very good one.

I think charter schools are for smart kids who get bored. Our magnet schools definetly aren't for smart kids. Blake (which is where my online school is based) has several magnet programs (TV Production, Dance, Theatre, Online School, etc.) and it is right across the street from the projects. I went to an elementary school that was certified as a charter school. The teachers could bend the curriculum a lot there.

The charter schools here are basically state sponsered private schools. I think they're for smart kids though. They just got passed last year, and the lotteries that were being held for admission(since they're state sponsored they have to be = opportunity) were all over the news.

They decided to teach us half a year of Trig for the fun of it in 8 days. It isn't too terribly awful, although it is annoying as math tends to be.

We got bored. This is what happens when math teachers get bored. The other precal classes are learning half a year of calc in 8 days.

We spend 1 semester on Trig and one semester on Pre-Calc.

I'm excited I can wait for school to start but I'm definitely excited about taking Trig/Pre-calc, AP Chem, and Physics.

They wont let us double up on science junior year. If you do that at my school you are asking to die. There's just no hope for you. I know someone taking AP Bio AP Lit AP History AP Spanish and Honors Precalculus. Now my friend we will see her wither away and die. I have another friend taking AP Chem Ap Lit AP History AP AP Spanish (the second AP spanish course) and AP Calc. Wow, some people just like to pile on those APs.
