I think that most of us keep replying to each other's posts so much that we are just trying to keep up so we are seeing it a little more.

Yes, we seem to be replying to each other's posts faster and more often now...so maybe thats why the messages are shorter.

True, I also think that most of us are good enough witha computer that it doesn't take us long to type a mediocre sized message. It definitely helps when you don't have to hunt and peck for every single key.

My family is full of hunt-and-pckers. One day, I pried off the M and N keys off of all of my family's computers (except for mine) and switched them  . I spent a few hours pretending to troubleshoot, so that they owed me. When they all were out of the room, out came the screwdriver again :) .

i know what you mean about hunt and peckers my family is the same way. If my dad has a long email to type he'll actually have me type it because it takes him so long.

Lol, I really should switch all of the keys someday. Of course, that would be too mean. My grandfather can't even figure out how to turn on the computer...I don't think he needs more problems.

My poor girlfreind has been trying to teach her grandmother to use the computer we are both convinced its a hopeless cause. She can turn it on but thats about it. She right clicks everything and accidnently creates new icons for everything. Whenever my girlfriend goes over there the screen is full of new icons. She also can never figure out hoe to sign onto aol even with written directions and 5-10 AOL icons on the screen.

Luckily my grandmother can figure it out quite nicely. But my grandfather is scared of computers. If it took him 30 minutes to sit down and write an e-mail, I wouldn't be suprised. We bought him a digital camera for his birthday and we tried to get the one with the least number of buttons. He wanted a camera, so he got one alright. He is starting to figure it out thankfully.

My mom can't open anything if it isn't on the desktop. She can't tell you what the problem is, either. I can just imagine her trying to talk to tech support when I'm gone. "I can't find the pen!" By this, she means that the WordPerfect icon isn't on the desktop (or she isn't looking in the desktop), but the support person doesn't know that.

Well since my mom is the VP of a tech company, she doesn't go hunting for the pen on her desktop. Its good because then I don't have to explain things to her.

I can't imagine not having to explain things to my mom. She's super organized though.

Well I don't know what I would do if I didn't have to explain things to my grandfather. He will never EVER understand computers so you might as well start from scratch each time. Luckily when I started going to private school in 6th grade, there was a computer for almost every kid on campus and different classes like science and history were to teach us different microsoft programs like excel and word and powerpoint. If you didn't go in 6th grade and started to go there in 7th - 12th, then you take a one day introductory computer course to learn how to work the network and stuff.
