Well working at the space museum i would possibly have a chance to wear a flight suiit again but id more likely get to wear the jacket. As for not selling them in the giftshop they still have them available online as well as there ae several other online sources with the jacket available.

They had them at the giftshop over spring break. Or at least I thought I saw them. They were kind of hard to find though.

They also have the American flag don't they? Well anyway thats good althougb i'm proud i went to space camp i'd rather just have the NASA patches on it. And atleast they have the modern verion of the meatball not the one they have on the space camp flight suits which hasnt been used since the gemini program.

The new flight suits have the meatball. Mine from 2001 has the meatball patch. The old ones that you borrow have the worm patch.

I know the ones they sell have the meatball. But its the original version of the meatball. The one on the space camp flight suit that they sell now is the original version of the meatball that NASA got rid of during the Gemini program and then replaced it with the current version. The ones on the flight suit now are the perfectly round version where the red swoosh doesnt come outsode of the circle. The current meatball where the red swoosh comes out of the circle NASA started using again in 1992 after using the worm from 1975 to 1992. So the meatball on the space camp flight suits hasnt been used since gemini.

I have one and i have just got it broken in. On graduation day I put on smiley's name badge and walked around in khaki pants and white shoes and that jacket. More people than usual thought I was a counselor. I think I counted 5 people asking me where space shot is.

I plan to get one of those jackets eventually i love them they look cool and it can be worn any time you need a light jacket. Whereas the flight suit you need more of a reason to wear.

I wore my flight suit all day the day columbia broke up...but you dont really need an excuse to wear the jacket and people dont look at you funny like when you walk around in a bright blue flight suit :)

Well the day columbia broke up i spent at the local space museum. and it was a really long day mainly trying to answer peoples questions to which there really were no answers. And having the sad job of telling a few people who hadn't heard what had happened.

I told Smiley about two minutes after it had happened. He had known about it for about 45 seconds or so by the time I had told him. It was really sad, especially because I was so tired from the night before at a class lock-in. No one ever really understood how I felt anyway.

Well i ended up having to tell a friend of mine who is a retired NASA engineer and a few people who were in the museum and hadn't heard the news yet that morning. That was a tough day back and forth between the tv and the museum floor anf fighting back tears alot.

I was getting ready for work and had just gotten out of the shower that morning when my mom told me to come watch the news. She really had no idea what was going on either. I was running late, so I tried to push it out of my mind, but once I was in the car, I just broke down. When I walked into work, everyone was like "Oh, Lindsey! I heard what happened. I'm so sorry, are you OK? Is there anything I can do?" I just about lost it everytime someone said something to me. That morning was really rough as all the patients who came into the office said something about it to each other. I went out to lunch with a friend and went to a couple of basketball games to cheer one of my best friends on. Afterward, he, his girlfriend, and her sister invited me to go out to dinner. I basically tried to keep my mind off of it all day.

Well i was getting ready to go to the museum that day when i turned on CNN to watch the landing. Well i kept watching till i had to leave then went and spent a whole day surrounded by space stuff and people and several images of Columbia. So i couldnt help but think about it.
