Day three was a long day. Nathaniel already posted it but this is my version.

At 1am we were woken up by Boost yelling "get up we have to move!" At first we had no clue what was going on. There was a tornado watch or something to that effect so we had to evacuate Hab 1. At first we were in the hall downstairs in Hab 2 but then got moved into the bays. We had to sit by the walls. It was hot and gross and it smelt really bad. We were down there for 45 minutes before we could go back to bed. I didn't fall back asleep until almost 3am. The storm is the reason we had Area 51 Bravo inside. Every other team did it outside to my knowledge (the other 8 day team and the 2 six day teams). With the time we saved by not doing Area 51 outside we went to the musuem and did the rock wall and space shot. Lunch then Charlie mission. We also did a team building activity with the other 8 day team and then group photo. Rocketry is very interesting this year. It has a fun twist to it but you'll find out about that. Dinner then a new activity that shall remain un-named. Delta mission training. The new ISS is unbelievable. If you were there at Christmas camp the change is huge. And it is so much fun (especially for the EDM). I know this is mostly the same as the last post but this is my version of the same events. he he

Now I'm going to post Day 4 first.

SCUBA!!!
Me and Nathaniel went down first together with Will. We got down fast so we had lots of time do play around. It's the same old stuff in there. When we were going around the windows I accidently kicked Will. oops. After we went up Will took Lorin and Monica down while we swam on top. They tried to hit us with the rockets but we got away.

Next was lunch. Then we had a briefing about the 24 hour mission (not saying details even though our mission was run differently than the next one will be).

Alpha mission- We were 30 minutes late so only had a 30 minute mission and we were missing some important stuff so it was a very stressful mission.

Hmm... I can't post the EDM positions? Bummer... they're really cool this year. I can also confirm that the first guest speaker was someone very cool and important (but don't get your hopes TOO high), but I also won't say more. And now for the journal.

Day 4: We got up, we ate breakfast. We went to the nurse, we went diving. WE had our post-dive physicals, then we had a nice hour of downtime to shower and hang out and whatnot. It was fun. The SCUBA was fun, better for me than usual, but no actual changes. Good stuff.
Lunch was pretty decent. Hot dogs, I think. After lunch, both teams went up to the corporate classrooms to decide mission positions. I somehow landed second-half ISS Commander... but I won't say anything else about that stuff. (some stuff deleted for spoilage) After mission positions, we were only 30 MINUTES LATE to alpha mission, which meant nobody went to station (pilot and commander were going to fill that gap due to our small team, but they didn't). Since I was science officer in MOCR, I didn't really do much except pretend to be PAO and talk to the public (AKA nobody). Yay. It sounded like everyone else was occupied, though, and besides, I actually like an extra break. So I guess it was good... enough. Yeah, so after that we had a really cool guest speaker (not saying!!!!). After speaking with her and being inspired to read a surprising number of books she referenced, we had dinner. We got there early, so we got the leftovers from the Blast-off Bakery! Free pretzels, free donuts, and even pie! But the pie may have just been a standard dessert (there was a lot of it and it was pre-packaged), and, forankly, I hope so, because I really liked the pecan pie I had. Amazingly good stuff. Oh, and oh yeah, the main course was lasagne, always a pleaser. Both the vegitarian and not-vegitarian types were really good, as usual. After dinner, we had our Bravo mission, where I was flight director, which was surprisingly fun for MOCR. Our pilot got the back wheels down properly, but then he slammed the front end down a little too hard. Luckily, nobody was in middeck due to our small team, so there were no casualties, I think. Then we had Orbiter Systems III, where we learned all about environmental control and waste management and fun stuff like that. Then we had some more of that hangout time we seem to be having so much of, and during that, we played a really cool game-type-thing in which we passed out papers with our names on them, and everybody wrote what they thought our future jobs should be. Apparently, I would makea good weatherman, Radio DJ (I like this one), future captain of the Starship Enterprise (not in this lifetime ,but whatever...), mime (????), news anchor, weatherman (again), politician, and "Stargate Impersonator." Yeah, umm... so do I curl up and start glowing? Who knows. Then was Charlie mission, in which I finally got to do the MS thing... fun EVA. It was all right, I guess... who knows. But the 24-hour mission will be awesome, I'm sure. Then we had night telescope, easily one of the coolest parts of any camp week. I actually remember asking as a little first-time camp kid whether we'd get to do any astronomy and receiving a disappointing no. I'm glad that changed. We saw the moon and Jupiter. We could even see 2 of Jupiter's moons! It was an enjoyable day.

Sounds like you had a really good time thus far! Wow, all three practise missions in one day, that must have been interesting. I cannot wait to read your jounral entries for the remainder of the week!

Journaling is fun, indeed. As for you saying "all three," there is actually a fourth... I think I can say that much. But that's all I'll say for now.

I always try to keep a journal but get board.... my attention span is like 30 seconds

Hmm... well, I just sorta forced myself to write a journal at nite FOR YOU GUYS!!!! Yeah... that, and, everybody made me go to bed last cuz I snore. Yeah... dunno. I would just sit at the desk with the light on and write until I finished.

next time im at camp ill make a doodle journal... i can usually pay attention long enough to make a doodle.....

Off topic, sorry:

I never used my journal to write the day's activities in. I had some sheets I had to fill in and get signed for school - what we did when, with a short description, to get career development and science credits. My journal was used mostly to pass around and get everyone to write something to remember. Sometimes they would write funny moments, other times they would write sentimental things. It's a great memory I have from camp. This time, however, I will definitely keep a 'what happened' journal as well as a 'friendship' journal!

Okay... back on topic... I had a guess (and metioned it earlier) about four practise missions. It makes sense since you are there longer and have a longer EDM to have four, or more, practise missions.

Hows about I post for day 5?

Day 5: We got up, we ate breakfast. Then we had Rocket Construction II. This time, I actually did some brainstorming and stuff, but I also had time to cut up a stick of glue for fun. But the rocket got finished, so it's all good. After that, we had our Delta mission, where we all did station because of how small our group is. Tony (our counselor) took the part of the science officer down in MOCR... let's just say he took the time to have some fun with that. Then we had lunch. It was the famous Mexican Wednesday, of course, so that was a lot of fun: I put beans, rice, and cheese on my taco. None of that crazy Grade-G meat for me. After lunch was IMAX, Space Satation with good ole Tom Cruise narrating. That seriously is a pretty cool IMAX, but this time around I paid attention to random stuff, like the really cool background music. I wish I could get me a copy of that soundtrack. Then we officially got our mission positions... I got just what I signed up for because we were already all in agreement for my group. (some spoilers removed) Then the "nutritionist," Jay, came and talked to us about or meal and snack choices... I won't say anything more than that. Then we had some museum time, where I checked out the cool new STS exhibit. I highly recommend that one. It's just as cool as the Liberty Bell. Then we had our second guest speaker. (name and description removed... but nothing especially cool) Then we had our gift shop time. I bot a cool map of mars thing set up somewhat like an actual state tour guide map and a copy of Countdown, A History of Space Flight by T.A. Heppenheimer, one I've wanted to read since I used it for my term paper. Then we had one of the better dinners of the week, some really good fried chicken. Then Scott went to SCUBA while we did robotics, which Scott came to a little later. Then we went as a team to see if we could find one guy's lost digital camera. WE didn't find it, but then we went out to Rocket Park and played Hide and Seek. Lots of fun... thanks to those of you who mentioned the idea back whenever... that way I supported the idea when whoever came up with it mentioned it. Then we went back toward the HAb, and we watched the ISS pass over. It was the same as usual, but still, it's always a cool sight. Then we went to the Hab to get ready for bed and whatnot, and the day was officially over.

Mav and I hid in the trees behind Skylab and they couldn't find us for 20 minutes. They had to yell for us to come out. It was fun.

What about me? I was there, too. And I had energy. I almost made it to the Dark Side, too, but Arlisa wouldn't let me. He, he.

Excited much? Who; not me! I'm not even attending the 8-day camp!
