OKay well i love camp, and it isnt too hard on my brain...just my wallet. I love thinking anomalies though lol they are fun....not. Everyone know pyschological anomalies ROCK MY SOCKS OFF! Anyway, yeah the price goes up but the quality in a way goes down. That would drive me away if i were not already addicted to this place. I think the quality of the logbooks and stuff has gone down, but the quality of the counselors hasnt really....they make all the difference to me sometimes. I love counselors! wooo! I also love EDMS but thats okay.

Oh, yeah, it's the counselors that make the diff. If I has Smiley, I would have gone insane with the circle trick. Luckily I had 'Drea and Brent. Brent was an okay counselor, though he does good EDMs. 'Drea was a lot of fun because she wasn't much older than us. She knew how we felt about things and let a lot slide. She was more of a teammate than a counselor.

I can't just let them get me, but not get them back! Right its okay I am going to camp in 7 days and I will get smiley at least.

You think you guys have it bad? Try working with them! I swear I get caught on the circle game every time Smiley is around!
To comment on the other subject: I don't think that more "nerds" come to camp then "non-nerds". It shouldn't matter whether or not you fall in one of those categories. This camp is about having fun .. learning about space (and planes) .. meeting new people ..and having funny.. cause trust me there aren't many nerdy counselors!

We all know that, but do the people who think camp is nerdy? I doubt it. We need to change peoples' thinking about the whole issuse.

I agree. The people who think camp is nerdy have no idea what they're missing out on.

AHH we played it with him all week and it drove me crazy. Especially when both Tony and he would get me at the same time. Hey there are some nerdy counselors. I have met a few of them!

My team was on tv. There was a news crew there on Tuesday and they interviewed a member of my team and then we all got to say where we were from and yelled out our team name. They were there to do a story on declining attendance.

Thats super cool! One time when I was there, they picked the USSRC to introduce the Mercedes M Class and we were on TV. I have no idea why though because I wasn't paying attention.

There seem to be several of those lately.

I had heard from several of the councelors that the attendance at camp was at an all time low, with the exception of the week where an Austrailian school sent its students and a few other weeks. Also to help cope with the reduction in attendance Space Camp has closed their Florida and California locations

Some of the shorter programs (like Astrotrek and P/C) are actually doing better (by 34%). When looking at overall attendence, the decline has seemed to reach a plateau, which is good.
I don't know much about the California camp, but Florida only had the Camp program. Though attendence was already in decline, it got worse after 9/11/01 when parents just didn't want to send their young kids away by themselves.

For mine and Ethan's week only two teams were full at ASA and there were only 4 teams. Two had 13 (but we started with 15).

True, it's hard though. The week I went (the week before you guys went) our team was the only full team of 18, and there were only 3 teams total.

Well I am here now, and this week there are 5 full Advanced Academy teams. Something like 90 people I think it is.....so the ASA program is doing quite nicely this week.
