I also think it might have been sometime last year. Now that my curiosity has the best of me, I am going to ask someone later today.

Salley Ride was at all three locations but California went under soon after. Space Academy was also in California but I think it went under before any summer sessions were held.

Mine is space as well but I used to spend so much time reading about space camp before I got the chance to go. A lot of the info is also in the 2002 program guide (the first to come out).

Well i never realised that space camp california had a space academy program. I know florida never did although their camp program had one aditional grade level that was part of the academy program in Alabama.

So did their camp program go from 4th to 7th grades as opposed to 4th to 6th?

I don't think California academy ever got off the ground because I think it closed but they had dates and everything for it. I think Alabama Camp was the only one that went grades 4-6. To my knowledge both Flordia and California were 4-7.

Yeah s[pace camp florid went through 7th instead of 6th grade. I'd never heard of an academy program in California but maybe it didnt get off the ground before it closed down.

I thought there was only Camp in California. There was a girl on my team that had been to camp in California, but I am not sure if she said anything about Academy.

Well it might have been something they started just before they closed and it never really took off. I've never heard of it either.

Why did they close down in the first place? Was ist just financial issues?

Yeah thats pretty much it they couldn't afford their biolls because business wasn't good enough same thing happened to Florida.

Well I always thought that the one in Huntsville was the best. My mom offered to send me to California or Florida, but I just didn't want to go.

Well at least in Florida if you go at the right time you can see a launch. That is if you get up early enough. That is just what I heard though. 8)

If you're anywhere in central Florida when there's a launch, you can see it. If you're at camp, you're going to feel it.

How far away is camp from the launch site?
