The movie Apollo 13 started my dream. It got me hooked on space. In grade 7 I found out about space camp on the net but soon forgot about it since I used the school net. It wasn't until grade 8 that I found it again. My grandma gave me some science books and one of them had an article about space camp. By this time we had internet at home and I looked space camp up. I was hooked immediatly and wanted to go but because it was i the U.S. we couldn't afford it. I did not know about the Canadain space camp at this time. In grade 9 I got a job so I could go to space camp and after my grade 10 year I went to camp. I loved it so much I went after my grade 11 year and I'm going again after my grade 12 year. I'm glad I waited to go to camp until high school because otherwise I don't think I would have been able to go again.

This is why i work at a space museum as a tour guide. I primarily get to work with younger children and get to help inspire them to reach for the stars.

I was born in February 1986... So my mother thinks that the Challenger news coverage somehow got absorbed into my head... also space camp the movie came out right after i was born and when i was in 4th grade dad brought home a promo video for space camp programs...

Well i clearly remember challenger and seeing space camp the movie while it was in theaters in 86. As for that promotional one it probably is the later onw than the one we talked about before.
