Thats the thing about the flight suits though... in space flight, putting things in the pockets isn't a problem at all but in gravity, putting stuff in the pockets really puts a lot of pull on that part of the jump-suit... not as much as wear and tear but just makes it more uncomfortable... i think it was more comfortable with nothing in the pockets of any weight... I remember some of their old gear and i liked it much more than what they have now... i still have my hat from space camp.. the white one with the red letters... now it looks like we'd be on some baseball team with their new one.. but i think the flight suits (the light blue ones) were just too light weight for practical use.

I was there the year they started using those hats in 93. Although i was at space academy level 1 that year and ours had blue instead of red. Although i liked those hats better than the ugly visors we had at camp in 91 i liked the black and gold hats they use to give to academy alot better. However i lost my space academy hat at sometime while i was there. Our counselor actually let us wear NASA hats if we bought them and i got mine on the second day a white one with the meatball emblem on it and wore it. At some point my academy hat dissapeared though. I still have my ugly brown visor i had to wear at camp in 91 though. Its not in the best of shape but i do still have it.If my academy hat hadnt dissapeared i would have kept it too.

you can still find the different hats and other stuff on ebay every now and then... its amazing the amount of "stuff" that ebay has on space camp (th ussrc space camp that is...)

True you do see alot of space camp stuff on ebay. But the one thing you see more of than anything on their is copies of the movie.

hmm? is that sapposed to say something? actually ... i liked parts and didn't like other parts... but seeing some of the things they did and actual video of parts of camp really took me back...

I agree i liked the movie. Sure it had more problems than i care to count but without those technical mistakes the movie would have been a totaly diffrent story. It also brings me back that along with my team videos from my first 2 years and my old space camp promotional video that was produced about the same time as the movie. And afterall the movie is what let me know their was a space camp.

me too actually... it was published in 1986 the same year i was born... i have that promo video around here somewhere the blue one? too bad they don't promote as much anymore... esp. with everything thats been going on... i had a video of my team from 1997 florida.. brings back memories... (to quote startrek... "I was never that young" "No, you were younger...")

Well this may not be the same promo video. This one is from around 85 or 86 because it still has the old training center. no hab, no pathfinder, and it closely resembles the movie. Also the only programs at camp at the time were Space Camp level 1 and space camp level 2. I dont know if the original is blue or not because mine is a copy. However i have seen a later one from more recent years that was blue.

Another option might be for you to check and see if Goddard has a NASA Educator resource center. I got my copy at the Langley ERC. Most of the ERC's are free to use as long as you have a reason to use it. And you can make copies of any of the videos thay have available. Only problem is every ERC is diffrent and may have a diffrent library of videos available. I'll check and see if i can find out if Goddard has one and let you know.
thanks

Well i just checked Goddard's ERC page and they dont list videos among their resources but as i said every ERC is diffrent. Unfortunately its the only one in maryland i believe the Langley ERC does take mail request but you will need to send them the blank video to get the copy ill check on that and get back to you again.

Well i dont see anything on the ERc about mail request but i will be there tommorow and i'll ask and find out if its possible.

Actually i do in a matter of speaking. I'm a volunteer at the museum where the ERC is located. I help out in the ERC on ocasion lately my big project has been to review the post flight press conference tapes to find out which ones have sound problems. Something we just recently discovered on our copies. I'll try to find out tommorow but no guarantees because they are having a home schooling workshop tommorow and the ERC will be rather busy most of the day.
