Well sometimes a counselor has to be strict or else the camp would be total chaos. Then nothing would ever get done and the camp would probably be shut down because parents wouldnt send their kids their at all.

Actually, the two times that I went all the counselors were quite nice and not once did I really feel like they were... say... "in control". Perhaps I was too wraped up in the experience to mis-behave... or too young to :)

I just remember them being there when we were doing the Camp thing... and at night they just left us to ourselves in our rooms. Sure, there were counselors patrolling the halls... and the [darn] counselors that wake you up in the morning, but beside that it was all good :)

Well i never had any really strict counselors either. Atleast not running my team but their were others ussualy the ones who didnt have a team that could be too by the book sometimes.

I guess beacuse my counselors seemed just so laid back. My Camp daytime counselor I don't even remember. All I have is a first name. I can barely remember what she looked like. The nighttime counselor I can remember clear as day. Both counselors in Academy I remember very clearly as well. They were equally kinda laid back.

Again, perhaps because I was never the "trouble-maker" type I, or those around me, never felt the wrath. There were problem children on my teams though... but that's another story.

Noone on my teams were really trouble makers. But at academy we had one lady who was what they called a Lead and everyone called her the Hammer because she was so strict. Boy if she heard even a slight sound in your room after lights out you heard about it loudly. Then their was AC where if you made too much room after lights out they made you stand at attention at the end of your bed till they thought you were tired enough to go to sleep.
