I've had similar experiences too except at a different camp. Cardboard waffles, yum! The waffles weren't the only thing though.

Oh i cant forget the meteorite sausage pattys that looked like theyd survived reentry through the atmosphere but were barely edible and the hockey puck waffles. One thing i did like though was the way the old cafeteria was decortated. Above the serving line they use to have large mission patches similar to those found in the discovery mision control.

That's pretty neat. The way the new one is decorated is kindof cheesy, but I like seeing either Pathfinder or the tcf while I eat.

How is the new one decorated now? when i was ther in 98 there really wasnt any decoration to it. But even with the old training center you couls srr pathfinder and the training center floor. But looking at the plans for the renovation you might not beable to see the training center floor in a couple of years because it will be enclosed.

I love it when we are eating we can see the Pathfinder and the TCF. I will be sad when we can't see it anymore. The whole atmosphere is awesome in the cafeteria. I love the views.

They are definately nice views. and as far as i know you will still beable to see pathfinder but if you want the new lighting system for the training center the open view will have to go i guess.

Yeah, I think Jason and I had a conversation about this earlier. I still want to be able to see the TCF when I eat for whatever reason. I love the TCF especially because I have seen it change over the years. I remember the Mars Bubble from when I was little.

That's the thing, there really aren't any decorations in there now except for the entrance and exit signs which have a planet background and remind me of something my mom would use in her kindergarten classroom. (That is a really bad run on sentence.)

It is still better than the old cafeteria though I think. I like the at least selection of food that is more than ONE thing. The background for the three of four signs could use a little work, but overall, I still think the cafeteria has come a long way.

True, it's nice to have more than one choice for dinner.

I remember when there was only one choice for food at camp, and if you didn't like it that was just too bad. Now at least they have selection and really good cookies. I don't complain about the food except of course on Mexican Wednesday.

I know by the time i went in 98 the current cafeteria was new and they already had several choices to eat by then. And atleas when you were in line you could now all be inside the building and not have some waiting outside like you use to.

We just sort of wrap around the side and then down the stairs and around the ramp now. It isn't that big of a deal. I think it could have been late 98 because I remember only having one choice of food when I went to Camp in 98. Maybe I am just imagining things.

I was there in July of 98 and they had a better selection of stuff and more than one choice. Definately better than it had been in years previous.

The food isn't that bad at camp. I mean, with the exception of Mexican Wednesday which is now Mexican Wednesday dinner. That is just...um...well...I am not sure if it is food. WOO HOO MEXICAN WEDNESDAY!

Mexican Wednesday! Who doesn't know about Mexican Wednesday. It used to be lunch but now it is dinner. One time we had Mexican Wednesday right before the MAT. That was interesting...to say the least.

I don'y know if it could compare to the wrath of the chili dogs they use to serve. They tasted alright going down but when you ride the MAT right afterwards you had to worry about them coming right back up.
