There's a kid in my world history class, that would beat just about all rednecks. He believes all the world's problems are caused by the muslims and that everyone should own a gun among other things.

NRA people doesn't even begin to explain it. Everyone has guns here and they think that the south won the civil war. Well not everyone thinks this, but lots of people do. Its actually really scary at times.

Ok i have to say something here. I am a member of the NRA and a southernor. I am also a legal gun owner. not every member of the NRA is an extremist. I do support ythe right of american citizens o keep ane bear arms whether its for self defense of dport like myself. I do believe in background checks and don't believe a convicted felon shopuld be allowed to own a gun. However i dont believe in liscensing in registration because it does no good. the only thing it does is let the govrnment know where legal guns are and does nothing for the ilegal ones that commit most of the crimes. Just my 2 cents but its the way i feel.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to say that every member was an extremist. I was talking specifically about the extremists that dont believe in background checks and any sort of gun control and whatnot. There have been a lot of issues with that here lately and kids were getting hurt because they accidentally shot something or someone. That is all I am realy concerned about. I have no problem with people owning guns as long as they are responsible about it.

Ok i shoul apologise for sounding mad when i made that post. It just an issue i have alot to say about. Unlike alot of members i'm not totaly against some gun control. Background checks and trigger locks are great especially when kids are in the home. Its just there are alot of people pout there who would like to eliminate all private ownership of firearms and thats what i'm against.

Yeah, I have a lot to say about it too. I think people should be able to own firearms and all that, but not necessarily semi-automatic weapons or anything. What bothers me are the people who think gun control is stupid and that trigger locks are not a good thing. If I had small children or every children at all, I would make evey effort to make sure that my gun which I would probably never have in the first place was available to them.

Well i'm also an advocate of gun education. When i have kids i will teach them about guns but also that they are not toys. When they are old enough they will be taught to use them with supervision and with verry strict rules but they will never have a key available to a trigger lock. I think we cant just oignore guns they ar out there and kids need to be educated about them. I've been around them for many years and was taught ealry to respect them and that they are not a toy and i believe in passsing that on to my children.

Yes, I definatley believe that people should be educated about guns. I am for whatever reason afraid of firing a weapon and I am not sure why. I don't really know anything about guns, but I agree that children should be taught that they are not a toy and that we shouldn't pretend like they don't exist. I wasn't brought up necessarily being taught that they were evil or anything, but my family has no real reason to own a gun, so I have never really been around them.

Our federal government just blew $2 billion dollars on a stupid gun regisrty that doesn't work.

Well that stinks. Our government blows money on all kinds of things that are useless and then we go trying to liberate people...

The reason gun registration doesnt work is because it only targets legal gun owners. I mean who seriously believes criminals will register their guns i mean besides the government.

Useless...like welfare? Since most people on it have no desire to work but to mooch off those who do and can make more on it than working at McDonalds.

I totally agree. I mean, if you are a criminal you don't want to have it registered. That only makes it easier for them to catch you!

I definitely agree with that.

Well maybe the government just does it to make people feel safer or something. I mean what self-respecting criminal would actually register their weapon? So maybe if they say they have a gun registry people will think you can trace criminals down or something. I dunno...

I saw something on CNN the other day. It had this whole headline that said new studies show that politicians lie. I started laughing so hard I couldnt help myself.

Well i know that registration didnt do anything for australia england or south africa where it led to banning all legal guns. All it did was make it easier for criminals who got guns on the black market to commit violent crimes. I believe some parts of canada are headed down the same road now too.

They have a gun regisrty for the whole counrty but all it does is wastes money. It's more than a billion dollars over budget and they want more money for it.
