I love the Saturn V Center. It's great. Every time I go out there I spend most of my time there. They have a small cafeteria that I eat at all the time there. IT's nothing fancy, but where else can you eat and stare at a Saturn V rocket (and be in air conditioning!) :)

Reminds me... I need to go out there again soon just for the heck of it. I hear the folks running the Visitor Complex opened the Astronaut Hall of Fame and as added it to their pass system. Should be interesting.

Sounds good just remember despite popular belief NASA Langley is about 4 hours south east of DC in Hampton VA not in langley VA which is much closer to DC.

Actually Langley VA has alot in the general area. CIA headquarters, the FBI and marine corps officer training schools at Quantico and Arlington cemetary are all in that general area. And its not too bad a trip to get down to hampton. Just take I-95 south till you hit the richmond area and get on I-64 east it will take you right into hampton if i'm not mistaken. I don't know if you like history or not but we have plenty of great historical sights in the area.

Well we obviously have alot of civil war sites in the area but we have alot of other stuff. We have the site of the first permanent english colony Jamestown, The site where the american revolution effectively ended at yorktown, Colonial williamsburg which recreates many of the buildings of Virginia's colonial capital city. We ofcourse have the aformentioned civil war battle sights as well as several military bases including the headquarters of the US Atlantic fleet at Norfolk. And we have a small rocket and aircraft park nearby on Mercury Blvd. These are just a few of the sights to see in the area. Oh and last but not least Hampton itself is the oldest continuous english speaking city in America.

Sounds good. Unfortunately you cant get on the facility itself anymore but you can see alot from the road going around the base. The visitor center is also great it has alot on Langleys history and projects its worked on going back to the NACA Langley days. Also if youll come we can go see Air Power park where we have one of only 2 remaining little joe rockets, a mercury boilerplate, a jupiter IRBM which was almost used for mercury and several other antiaircraft missiles and aircraft.

It is unfortunate that access to many of the NASA centers is totaly cut off now. Fortunately Langleys visitor center is offsight and you can still see quite abit from the road that goes around the center. One thing that complicates things more is the fact that NASA Langley is connected to Langley Air Force Base. We use to have a bus tour that would visit many of the historical sights unfortunately after September 11th they shut that down we're hoping it can start up again eventually with enough security precautions taken.

Well i think all the ISs hardware is now at KSC. Still it would be great to see the test stands and the UAT at Marshall or even the extremely out of date space station mockup they use to have their.

The tour used to, but they closed down operations of the Neutral Buoyancy Simulator at Marshall, so there's really not anything to see there anymore...
