Question about updated Enterprise software

Post by Kemara »

I have a question about the updated software if it's OK to ask. Have they gotten rid of the green and black monitors? My eyesight is bad (I'm legally blind) and the screens in MOCR were h*** on my eyes. I couldn't read my monitor because of the colors and how far away it was set into the panel from me. I've gone to ASA 2 years in a row now, and my shift in MOCR is the time I dread most out of the entire week. This past year, I flatly refused to do MOCR during the EDM because it was so hard one everyone else who had to help me read my screens. Please tell me this has been improved!

Well i dont know if they are being changed or not but i can see why they were done like that to begin with since from what ive seen they are the same color on the real shuttles. Hopefully they will fix that problem though i'm sure your not the only one whos ever complained about it.

NEW ENTERPRISE!!!

Post by jasonmc »

Enterprise is getting an enhanced version of the Binary Star System like that in Intrepid and Atlantis.. MOCR is moving and I do not know any more than that.

Monitors in Mission Control

Post by Smiley »

Enterprise Mission control has been moved to the ground floor to enable better handicap accessibility. The monitors should be a little easier on the eyes as they are all new hardware.

Well since they are trying to improve handi cap accessability does anyone know what all they are doing to improve it. I'm in a wheel chair and would like to beable to go back to camp but would like to know how accessible they are making it.

I just got back from ASA and my team was the second to use the updated Enterprise. Some of the screens in MOCR are still green and black, but some are clearer and better. In a wheelchair, you can get into MOCR, but I dunno about the orbiter because I was flight.

Well i can see them making MOCR accessable to wheel chair but i dont see how they could do it with the orbiter. The shuttle just isnt built for people in wheel chairs althoiugh i wouldnt mind being a flight director for the missions.

Given then right circumstances you could be assisted to a chair within a shuttle... or since the MC is on the ground you could be, as you said, a mission director or something.

Dude, you really should just GO

Well id be happy with flight director it was a fun job. As for getting in and out of the shuttle and once inside there isnt much maneuvering room in their and it would take alot of help to acomplish just getting me through the hatch.
