it was- tony was the best counselor... at least that i've had. he was really cool- he let us go in the multi axis trainer for like 5 mins each cuz he didn't want to go to a lecture... and we'd blow off stuff to do the space shot and stuff.. that was a fun week

Miles and the rotation story has to be the funniest thing ever. Chris and I laughed uncontrollably for days. I still die laughing when I think about it. The only thing funnier may be sumo wrestler (You know what I mean Erin **).

So ok we were having a problem with one of our team mates and his ummm noticiable odor? yeaaaaaaaaaaa so our counsler Brent sings the bath song (sung to the tune of Watch ya self or whatever that song is) and anyway we saw our night leader Mike or Mickey (Panamas named him that) and as loud as possible we sing or scream the song TAKE A BATH.... WASH YA SELF....SHOW ME WHAT YOUR WASHIN WITH!!!. lol and plus there was a camer crew on the training floor right by where we were singing. everyone in the cafeteria was looking at us. ok just another good time at space camp ASA!! Also i luved when Jaime had to be carried through the web during area 51. good times

From the Old Days...

My favorite camp moment:
I was station commander during the 2nd leg of our 12-hr mission and after 6 hrs, you are a bit loopy. Kim was the station officer in MOCR so we were on the headsets a lot together. (now I know how much the counselors pay attention to you, but back then, we were oblivious) We were awsum at getting anomalies solved, but they took about 15 min extra b/c we couldn't stop laughing.
Our lowest moment of entertainment involved Thomas, the only good looking guy on the team and my buddy for the week. Kim wanted me to get him to show his very nice backside to the camera, but I wasn't going to blatantly ask him so we came up with a plan. I threw my pen on the floor and called "Thomas, can you get me my pen." Of course, to get it, he had to bend over with the camera behind him. Kim acknowledged my job well done with a cat call. I think Thomas knew what we did b/c I couldn't stop laughing after he stood up. Our little episode also made it to the de-brief notes from our counselors (I think they enjoyed the view too!). Yep, girls are ruthless!

And our other adorable moment was when we performed the Hand Jive for MOCR. It confused everyone and of course, caused some anomalies.

Funniest moment

Post by jasonmc »

My funniest camp moment came when I was a counselor for the International space camp. one of my students, Jose-David Delgado Rojas From Costa-rica, was playing soccer. He proceded to kick his shoe onto the roof of one of the trailers. He asks me "McGruff? I kicked my shoe on the roof!!? Can I go get it?" I replied "No, Ill get it in a min." At that point I turn around and then there is a series of giggles. I turn back around and Jose is shimmying up the side of the building! NO LADDER!!!
I snatch him off the wall and proced to die laughing!
it was hilarious!!

I just got back and I was a pilot in Von Braun. We had the best group. We were continually laughing, but most of the stuff was inside jokes or kinda inappropriate. I have several things that I'd like to share, though.

During our EDM, Capcom was sitting on the table in the back of the new Enterprise MOCR. He zipped up his flight suit pocket when he realized it was opened. Brent, who was running the sim, started cracking up and motioned over Keil (capcom). Then Keil starts laughing and he suddenly yells out "My titie! My titie! I zipped my tittie!" I treated him, but his reaction was hilarious.

When it was time to come home, the commander brought the orbiter into the atmosphere sideways. The payload bay doors are open all through landing, even though they shut them. Then, the commander lands and the nose goes up so that the nose gear is not being used, but the SSMEs are. The drag chute deploys and then wheel stop occurs, all with the orbiter at like a 60 degree angle. It's hilarious. You have to see the picture that Drea took, I'll post it when I get it.

LOL ok now that is funny. And i wish i could have seen that. Last time i went to asa the landing was still a video that ran at the apropriate time. So you always landed every time. Ofcourse that was almost 5 years ago.

New year's contest

Post by Benji »

On New Year's Eve, there was a contest to dress up your conselor as a holiday icon. We in Von Braun won  . We dressed  Andrea  up as an angel. This probably isn't funny if you aren't a counselor or friend of  Drea's  , but people in the cafeteria were cracking up :P .
