Lego movie voice actors go to Space Camp

What Space Camp forum would be complete without a place to talk about one of the best/worst movies of all time, SpaceCamp, as well as all Space Camp references in pop culture.

I recorded it last night and saw it this morning. They did the centrifuge, multiaxis, went up on the arm and in the sling for EVAs, piloted the shuttle, all under the watchful eye of Hoot. The usual celebrity stuff apparently, no 12 hours of research scientist in a station module doing child level experiments and Rorschach tests.. They showed shuttle and not Orion yet I suppose that's because the general public is familiar with one and not the other. Elizabeth Banks got The Right Stuff Award, not surprisingly because Hoot, the commander of Swine Flight, made the selection.

BTW, I thought handing out a Right Stuff Award just cheapened it further.

P.S. I understand that they paid a $2,500 location fee for the one day shoot so I guess that's the going rate for a Right Stuff Award.

To be fair they never called it a right stuff award or explained its significance on the show. Only an alum would know what it really should mean.

I take back what I said I rewatched it and Hoot does say Elizabeth wins the Right Stuff award but had to listen really closely to hear it over the cheering most would nt have heard that and again non alum would have no idea its significance.

It's not a Medal of Honor. I know plenty of people who consider the Right Stuff Award to be sort of a joke anyway, either given to the 'cool kid' in the team or the one with a sob story.

I know the going rate for a Right Stuff Award; it's about $30. That's what I got one on eBay for a couple of years ago. I also saw one for sale at an antique mall in Huntsville last year, for about $75.

You forgot as a participation award so that every team gets an award ;) I know what you mean, tho. I've told Deby multiple times that she should come to camp. She'd be a near shoo-in, between being on oxygen and her back, not to mention being with me. <rimshot>
