I know this thread is a few years old, however are there any plans on having another run of name badges being made?

Spacecanada of course would answer correctly, but I recall her telling me she had some blanks.
I would love to get at least one with my SC call sign....

I know this is ancient thread, but I stumbled across this photo and had to put it here. I have never seen one like this before. It must be a really early one, predating the mission specialist wings.

I would say it's fairly recent. NASA didn't revert back to the meatball until 1997-1998, and she had one mission after that point (STS-98 in 2001). The only photos I've seen of her wearing that badge are more recent pics taken after that time. I haven't seen any other astros with that particular badge, so it's probably a one-off she had made herself.

I've seen some early shuttle program leather name tags with the meatball but never a cloth one like this. And even though the worm was in use until 1993 the meatball still was often worn on flight suits and jackets as well as the worm. Just look at some of the pre challenger astronaut portraits especially in light blue suits.

I'm a newcomer who's attending the Adult Advanced Academy in November and is getting his gear ready. I found this vendor on Etsy and ordered a couple of badges. I hope it helps everyone out!

So I sent for a second flight suit (just because I could and I wanted to test fit it) and put my custom name badge on it.

Looks great, Mike.
I love the look of the newer visitor center patches they use now.
Here's mine, which has been modified in some way each time I've gone there, with the new nameplate.

Just curious, how can you have a callsign if you haven't been to Space Camp yet? Someone gives one to you when you're there (and often, it doesn't happen. I only got mine on my 5th time there), you don't get to pick your own.

My Callsign doesn't have to do with camp. I'm assuming I'll get an "official" one once I get there. Mine started out from a Star Trek group that I belong to. You move up through the ranks and I eventually got to the rank of admiral. They found out about it at my job and started addressing me as "admiral", going so far as to making a name tag for me to use at our IT Genius bar and over our walkies. So "Admiral" has been my Real Life callsign for several years.

So I know that a lot of alumni are looking for Space Camp specific nametags (myself being one of them). I contacted John P. on Etsy and gave him a design that I came up with based on the FAA Commercial Astronaut wings. Here is the prototype that he came up with. I think he nailed it!

He's taking a break right now so all of his products are down at the moment. He usually does this in order to catch up with his orders.

I met Charlie Walker today, 3-time payload specialist. His name tag had an orbiter silhouette in the center. It's the first time that I've ever seen that, so I asked him about it. He said that's what NASA came up with for payload specialists. I should have taken a picture. He's there through 4/12 so maybe I'll go over again and snap one.
