I'm a big train fan and while I'm in Huntsville, I want to get some local RR shots (I already know about the RR museum downtown and I'll be spending a day at the Tennessee Valley RR museum in Chattanooga before getting to Huntsville the night before I sign in for camp). I really want to know if anyone can tell me where this location is as I have to get a shot of a train with the Saturn V in the background like this:
Anyone know where the place is?

That's on the opposite side of the highway (565) from The Space & Rocket Center. That pic was probably taken from Old Madison Pike, which is the street the Sprocket Center is located on before it crosses 565 and becomes Tranquility Base. Very easy to get to from Sprocket, just leave the premises and cross the highway.

And as I recall, trains come through there quite frequently. I always catch it coming down the line somewhere along my drive from Chattanooga to Huntsville (the tracks run right alongside the highway that leads into Huntsville).

Thanks! I assumed I'd be able to find this location once I got there, but it's always better to know ahead of time, as I had no way of knowing if the photographer had to walk a mile or so to get there (and trust me, there are plenty of train photographers who'll walk a lot further than that to get a shot of a remote location along the tracks).
You can see where I've done it myself a few times here: http://www.railroadforums.com/photos/sh ... =0&cat=500

I'll be darned, I never would have realized the highway was on the other side of the tracks, I just thought the highway would have been behind the photographer.
Thanks a lot!

The reason you dont see the tracks is because in some parts of the adjoining service road parts of the interstate, the tracks are below grade.
Thats a pretty cool picture of some pumpkins and a saturn V!
