Vintage photos from the Space & Rocket Center

Post by Hotdog »

Here is a really neat site with a ton of space artifacts from all over the country. There are pages dedicated to what we have at USSRC.

Most interesting was this model of the rocket park, showing a Saturn 1B in place of the Saturn 1 and a launch tower standing next to it:

Hours of cool stuff to browse through on a nicely designed site.

Actually i think it is a Saturn 1 just a diffrent configuration. You can tell by the fact it has no tail fins the earliest Saturn 1's didnt have them. Hard to tell though tius not a high fidelity model of high resolution photo

You are right Boomerang I had to do a double-take. I knew something wasn't right. Anyway, pretty cool to see what they originally had in mind for the rocket park.

The first stage looks like a Saturn one of the 1st set of vehicles, but the second stage looks like a S-IV with a boiler plate and mock up SM. Interesting...

This is a really cool web site.
