LHC

So today people were going around saying "The world's gonna end on Saturday because they're making a huge vacuum in France."

I can only assume that they're refering to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN in Geneva. Apparently CNN thinks that it will create a black hole that will swallow the earth or something. The chances against this happening are astronomical if it even is possible. Anybody else hear such nonsense?

I've heard similar concerns, but I'm not worried. Although it would make a great (if done well) plot for a sci-fi movie/book.

That it would, but it would have to be done very well. I wouldn't leave it up to Michael Bay

The world ended yesterday and now we're all in some sort of parallel universe. Yeah... that's it. ;)

People humour me sometimes.

But at least it's not Bizzaro World...and we know that because people without facial hair in the Real World aren't suddenly sporting sinister looking mustaches and gotees.

I was really hoping we would end up in Mario World and we would all look like cartoonish Mario people and all the bad guys would look like koopas and we could jump on them.

(I was up way too late playing Wii last night...)

As long as we didn't end up in the "World without shrimp"...or the "World with nothing but shrimp".

<Hoping someone else gets the reference and smiles>
