Rocket Launches

Post by Boomerang »

Just a heads up to anyone coming down here to camp in the near future though i dont think it applies to the alumni camp. Rocket Launches are all on indefinate holdat camp due to the extremely dry summer we are having this year. We have from what i hear a major deficitin rain. So till we hear otherwise no model rockets this summer. And from what i've seen so far it may be a while.

I would say that is a great idea being that it is so bone dry. I live 2 hours north and we are down more then nine inches of rain for the year. I have heard that northern AL. is worse then we are.

Strange strange, but things are quite different in the desert Southwest of Albuquerque. It is raining just about every afternoon (too bad for dog Torie). But anyway, we had our rocket launches at our camp!
Yes I can see how you need the ground to be damp. Anyway all the kids rockets went up!! Mine flew highest, nahner nahner.

Ah yes, we are having a very rainy summer this year. We have been in drought for the past five years so we welcome the rain. I love the rain... and thunderstorms are my favourite!

Hopefully Monkeynautt will bring some of our rain down to Hunstville with her.

We finally got some much needed rain here in Northeast Florida/Southeast Georgia. Most of the wildfires we've been dealing with are extinguished.

I put a rock in my rocket last year. I still remember what the councilor said when I handed it too her: "What the F***!?" No joke...
