#1 Space Camp Fan
Ladies and Gents,
In the next few days the mothership will be announcing a contest for the 25th Anniversary that will hopefully allow you to meet Capt. Kirk, get a Shuttle flown flag, and visit camp next summer as a VIP. It is the #1 Space Camp Fan. I would like to throw in a disclaimer right now. The title is deceiving because they will take AC fans too. I would love to see an AC fan win, cause they are more high speed than the Blueberries, but I am not biased! I love both! Blue and green!!!!
Keep a watch out for the contest!!!

Are you kidding? Shatner is a perfect choice for a host. I'm sure there will be plenty of industry speakers on hand for the ceremonies, but for the spotlight job of emcee you need someone who is recognizable to everyone, including those who are not "in-the-know" with NASA and Space Camp. I think a high-profile person like Shatner is a great choice!

The contest is up... Thanks to Alumni Andi, here is all the paperwork and details:

They don't say the contest is only open to US citizens, but even if I won I wouldn't be able to afford the airfare to Huntsville, so I won't be applying.

I know NOTHING about making videos, and I'm way too busy to put something together, so I'll just help anyone who wants it. Apparently I have been known to give constructive reviews, even if I am blunt and honest. (That, and I have enough fundraising to do for a Guide camp in Scotland in 2008.)

Aww, I have no access to a video camera. I'll have to figure out how to get my hands on one. The plus side is I can use my spring break to work on it.

Ah, but if I were ever to get a tattoo, what would it be? Would I go for the ASA or SC logo? Tough decision... Good idea though... and my cousin is a tattoo artist who would jump at the chance! I'm just not brave enough to get branded. Hmm... temporary tattoos could work...Vincent wrote:Finally, here's an idea, if you're stuck thinking of something:
Make a video of yourself getting the Space Camp or Aviation Challenge logo tattooed on your arm or something! That's gotta show you're a pretty big fan of Space Camp.
You know, not that I seriously considered doing that myself for even a minute...Really!
Wow... I had too much sugar this morning!

So, a lightbulb turned on in my head yesterday. I came up with a video idea that is slightly cheesy but simple. I also opened Windows Movie Maker for the first time and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use. Yay! It looks like I will be spending my next few weeks worth of lunch hours creating an application video to submit after all.
Even though I cannot go to the festivities if I win, the flag itself is worth it!
Anyone else making a video?

well you didnt need to be creative though.... the goal was to say your the biggest fan... and if you are then it shows in your life and all you had to do was just show that much.... creativity had nothing to do with it... I am sure you would of faird just fine in the contest...

I probably have the smallest amount of creativity of anyone I know, with no video experience at all, and I made a video. It is terribly cheesy, and you can all see it on Monday, but hey, I had fun. I am such a Space Camp addict that the simple fact there was a project (open to Canadians!) out there with the Space Camp theme had me hooked.
Wow, I really am a Space Camp junkie... yikes!
