2nd level
I know that Space Camp has been given Marshall's ISS mock-up but I am wondering if they have started to use the 2nd level of ISS.

Well in truth those modules at Marshall were not built to be an ISS mockup at all they were built to be a Space Station Freedom mockup. After they switched to the ISS they started calling it an ISS mockup. Though they layout was still that of Freedom when it was at Marshall.

In 1998 I had it recorded in my journal as the Freedom station as well. I didn't give much attention to the configuration, but the name left me slightly confused until now. Thanks for clearing that up LB206.

Well in 98 some people still referred to the iss as Freedom but the name was decided that it was too americanised especially since Freedom had been mainly an american proect with some european and japanese support but not as much as ISS so they my have been referrng to it as freedom still on that tour. When i was there in July 98 we didnt go to see the mockup we went and saw the real modules under construction in another facility. When i went down as a tourist in october 98 the security on base was higheer so we only went to see the mockup not the real thing.

I posted a couple of photos of the station from 1987 or 1989 in my Hab1 Photo Gallery

A second level? Wow, that's freaking awesome! I love that the station is becoming this gigantic interconnected thing with lots of elaborate parts and nodes. It's so much larger than the real station, yet it reflects what the space station of the future might be like! Very coolness.
The less time spent in Orion Bay, the better.
