Squawk of the day - 27 JAN 06

Post by Spanky »

From an A-7 pilot transitioning to the F-16:

X Rotating beacon does not rotate.

This came back from debrief after I had already had a conversation with the pilot at the jet that went something like this...

"Chief, the rotating beacon isn't rotating."
"The what? Oh, the anticollision beacon..."
"Yes, it goes 'flash, flash' but it doesn't spin around like on the A-7."
"Sir, it's only supposed to go flash, flash."
"Are you sure?"
"We only have a short time to live, so it is essential to do things that are worthwhile and to do them now."Lord Baden-Powell

Spanky, where you been, man?
"You made a fool out of young lieutenants. That's not against Army regulations."
