Air Show Pictures
I just uploaded and put captions to pictures from an air show earlier this year at Langley AFB they are on the photo album for hab 1 members page. They include some pics of the F-22 raptor and FA-18 superhornet among many others.

Langley AFB puts on a pretty good show every year. I was kind of dissapointed this year the aerial acts were pretty good but they were seriously lacking in static displays. Most likely due to so many planes being ocverseas. But it was great to get a look at the Raptor. Langley will have the first operational squadron in the country by the end of the year. And all i can say about the superhornet is WOW!!!!!!!! that thing did maneuvers i didnt think possible for an aircraft.

Oh yes, the CF-18 (or the American FA-18) is a very superb aircraft! Definitely my favourite. I have seen them multiple times at airshows here. They have a show CF-18 that they paint up every year with the most spectacular paint job a (military) plane could ever have! (Then again, we tend to paint up our planes a lot nicer than the USA does.) I must post pictures the next time I have access to a scanner.
I tried to join the RCAF as a navigator, but they wouldn't let me... so now all I can do is drool over the planes and take loads of pictures of them.
So... when's the next airshow in Northern Alberta... hmmm....

I have seen the CF-18 at airshows before but this was the new Superhornet the laterst incarnation of the Hornet. Don't know if Canada has them yet or not. I know Virginia Beach has m,ade a big stink over them because they are louder than the standard hornet.

Our planes tend to kick more butt then the Canadian planes do. We need the extra weight for bombs and bullets, not cutesy paint schemes. They have a show CF-18 that they paint up every year with the most spectacular paint job a (military) plane could ever have! Sorry couldnt resist..!

I prefer that our planes do not need as many bombs or bullets... but I guess that's the Canadian perspective... yay for the maple leafs and blue berets!Who wrote: Our planes tend to kick more butt then the Canadian planes do. We need the extra weight for bombs and bullets, not cutesy paint schemes.
I know we have lots of original CF-18's, but I remember one of the pilots mentioning something about a SuperHornet (CF-18E) at the last airshow I went to. I shall inquire further...
