Was that one of those dreams that was puit on hold when the space center had so many problems. I remember hearing from the museums curator alot of big plans in 98 when i visited dont remember that one specificly but it would be on the level of some of the others.

The idea is hilarious. One, alcoholically fueled counselor decides he's going topside, falls. Lawsuit. Counselor isn't paying attention, kid falls. Lawsuit. It's not worth the liability alone. Add to that the fact that the Navy has threatened to take their aircraft back on several occasions, where would they get the aircraft needed to do it right?

This was an artist concept of what AC could have been like. The students, sims and classroom as well as office space, etc would have been housed int the carrier. It is a great idea if you have an unlimited budget and don't plan on making any money for about 20 years.

Seems it would have been cheaper to make the hab that ac already uses look more like a carrier on the inside lol. I still think its a neat concept picture though.
that picture is hanging up in the tech room just off the mach II sim bay. I saw it the other day, and thought if we could just build AC around the Intrepid Air and Space Museum in NYC, that would be almost perfect.
