Taco Bell

If you've been by spacecamp.com lately, you might have noticed in the bottom right corner a Taco Bell logo with "Sponsors" next to it.

Who? What? Where? When? How? Why?

...granted, they've been involved with space before. You might recall their infamous "Free Taco if Mir Hits our Target" promotion!

Anyway, I was curious as to what exactly the Taco Bell sponsorship entails. Find out, if you're currently at camp and bored some day!

Taco Bell and Aviation Challenge are teaming up for a local (huntsville/north alabama) promo to give out 4 or 6 parent child trips this summer.

Well, Who, that sounds very nice!

...Still, I'm somewhat disappointed. I was hoping they were finally starting to go get some big corporate bucks the likes of which would be on par with what they used to be able to pull in ~15 years ago...

Look for that this fall when Camps exclusive deal with Coke expires.

Perhaps, but that has more to do with keeping Coke at the USSRC than getting money just for being Space Camp, don't you think?

Coke will most likely always be with the USSRC, but the way the contract is written with them we cannot, USSRC or Camp, partner with any other drink manfacturer on a promotion.

August we are looking to revamping the claus to op out of Coke only promos which havent happened for sometime. We have missed over the past few years 5 or 6 million dollars worth of free national advertising because of this agreement, most notably a tie in with Pepsi/Lucasfilm on Revenge of the Sith/Camp promo.

That's some craziness about missing out on a RotS/Camp deal... man, that would have been awesome!

Being a counselor and getting information from up top is alot like the telephone game. By the time you get word of anything, its over, too late, obsolete, doesnt make sense or never reaches you at all.
