Well, I applied on the last day of xmas camp. I kept calling them and they kept saying that they hanv't decided. I called them again on Friday asking what was going on. They had sent an email but I never got it, most likely because the university webserver was down for a day.

So they quickly sent me a second copy of the email.

So is everyone getting the "sim couselor" letter? If so how will that all work out? As far as I can tell they are hard pressed for couselors this seasion.

Yeah. It's either sim counselor or aviation challenge.

questions for those of you who've been counselors before:

Is there internet access at the camp? How is it, really? What's the liklihood, if I live there as an RA, that I will be able to use a computer on a regular or semi-regular basis?

As a campers we got to use the internet for a bit. It's pretty quick, and chances are if you're a counselor you'll have a better chance of using it than the campers. Then again, having never been a counselor, I wouldn't know for sure. Just my speculation.

RA wardroom

Post by HurricaneErin »

In Hab1, there's the RA wardroom. It has 2 computers with internet access for counselors to use, as well as other amenities.

I am also going back for another summer - if anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.

Yeah... You'll want to use the wardroom internet (assuming its better) cause the net in the computer labs is terribly slow...

I just met you at IHOP last night!
Fantastic.
It's kind of strange how they are hiring counselors to only work sims and not have teams.
I applied in March of 2003 and was told they weren't hiring. (And after all that work with putting together the application and video!)
Then I got a phone call in April 2004 asking if I was still interested and when I could be available to work. After that phone call I was like.. "So am I hired or not?!?!?" Then I got a letter.
In other news, I arrived at the airport last night and went outside to see if the van was there.. but there was no van to pick me up! I called Superstar to come get me.
Then when I checked the schedule in the wardroom, I found I'd been given an Academy team that morning and I hadn't even arrived yet!
Other than that, things have been great. There are SO many people I don't know, which is kind of weird.
If you're at camp and we haven't met.. well, why haven't we met yet?
