Hehe, a friend of mine was talking about bongos once, and kept saying marimba instead. All we could do was laugh at him. They're pretty different, lol.

Pretty different alright... We had this like 90 year old set at my high school. It was interesting when they fell apart all the time.

I think it's a rule that percussion equipment at schools must be really old and falling apart. Our suspended symbol always falls off and makes a huge crashing sound at the most akward moments!

I can't think of things in our band room that are falling apart that bad, lol. I'm sure there are, but off the top of my head I couldn't say.

Oh hey! Guess what! I get to march my electric bass in our towns Strawberry parades! We're going to make one of the freshman (few freshman can march) push the cart that'll carry my amp and large batteries, hehe. I mentioned it the other day to my director that I really wanted to march my bass. He didn't take me seriously when I said it, but when I said it again yesterday, he was really thinking about it. He said if we could make it work, he'd let me march it. We were thinking generator, but when I talked to my dad he said really big and powerful batteries would be better (which my dad has, hehe). Generators make too much noise. When I talked to him today, it sounded like it was a, "Yes Allison, you can march your bass." YAY!!!!!! :D *is very excited*

Yeah, i think a generator would be counter productive. I went to the poorest school in lower michigan (ironically the one with the best education to offer) so naturally most of the stuff in our school was falling apart. If you wanted a good instrument you bought it yourself and padlocked it into a locker with your own lock. lol.

In our band room, we have lockers for the sole purpose of keeping our instruments in. All different sizes. Some just for flutes, a bit bigger for clarinets, and really big for the trombones and bari saxs (those also fit people . . .we put people in the instrument lockers, hehe, band geeks rock!). Instrument lockers are cool.

yeah we have 2 rediculously large lockers that we use for bari's and tubas, they each have two shelves in them, so far the most we've fit in one is four people

we have instrument lockers also in my orchestra room, there are onces for basses and cellos that im pretty sure (i have never even thought of trying) you could fit 4 or 5 people in. not much in my school is falling apart, cuz we have to most money of any school in the are, so our school is all pretty.

We have the same lockers but the teachers gave us the locks and then gave the master keys to anybody who 'forgot' their combination. Now i dont know about you but my stradivarious is like my prized posession and i didnt want to take any chances lol. I brought my own lock and after a bit of an argument i won. Its cool to put people in the big lockers unless the teacher isnt there and didnt leave the master key for the sub... oops.
