first, no country, no r&b, no rap. period.
Classical music is a must...though the best stuff these days (some might say unfortunately...I don't) comes from movie scores (basically, I feel this amounts to, classical music is dead! Long live classical music!)
I like swing music, and was sad to see the neo-swing movement die a few years back.
Though I'm not a huge fan of Celtic music, per se, Loreena McKennitt's music is amazing, fantastic stuff!
Actually, before I keep listing and listing stuff, I'd say I like almost every type of music except the three mentioned above...Techno, Rock, etc...it truly is, "all good!"

I like all types of music if it is good- however I tend to shy away from anything that has been overly commercialized (BRITNEY SPEARS and teeny bopper cacophany, however, Darude is okay, I heard about him and I think I heard his song SANDSTORM before it became big) , since it usually deteriorates the quality. There is trance out there that is just as good and sound similar to Darude's music, but the heads who dictate popular culture (MTV/VH1 media moguls) have not "discovered" them. Moby's good because he is different every time he puts out a CD.

Goodness, this is an insanely old topic,
but I like it, so I'm bringing it back up.
I like most kinds of music, except country. I've got rock, sound tracks, opera, classical, new age, jazz (love the jazz), I even have the Jeff Wayne musical version of War of the Worlds. I've recently discovered that I really like the music of artists such as Sarah Brightman and Josh Groban.
I love music. I'd die without it. Thank you Space Nerd for getting such a good topic out.

Wow! I wrote this so long ago that my music taste has actually changed since then! I'm kinda glad you dug it up though it was a fun topic! Jazz is awesome and sarah brightman is good as well. I find the best way to enjoy music is to have an open mind to all of it of course this is probably why my ipod looks like it was owned by 50 people with different music tastes. Glad you liked the topic though.

That's how my computer is. The variety is crazy, but I enjoy it all and always have something to listen to. I want to expand my music library. I currently only have about 4.25GB, not nearly enough!I find the best way to enjoy music is to have an open mind to all of it of course this is probably why my ipod looks like it was owned by 50 people with different music tastes.

http://music.lycos.com/ That's a way I like to search for downloadable music. A majority of mine has come from friends though, one of which has an amazing +40GB. I get burned CDs as gifts, lol.
