Extraterrestrial Life

Extraterrestrial Life
So I'm taking a class this semester called (I kid you not), "Extraterrestrial Life."
...Not being able to resist a class with that title when I saw it, I signed up for it!
I have a homework assignment where I have to ask ten people the following yes/no questions.
...so help me do my homework!
1) Do you believe extraterrestrial life exists?
2) Do you believe that UFOs are extraterrestrial visitors?
3) Should the US fund searches for extraterrestrial life?
Thanks!

Extraterestrial life undoubtably exists. However, the chance that they exist within any reasonable distance is almost 0. The distance of space is an infinite amount of lightyears. Which means the time of our existence as a species is infintisimal with respect to how long it would take a data transmission to reach the "edges" of the universe.
If we ever recieved a radio transmission, the origin of that transmission is already gone. It would be nearly impossible to detect which planet it came from. Most likely it's star already turned into a red dwarf/giant/supernova and it is gone.
Something many people dont realize is that we could be the first intelligent life in the universe. Although it is garanteed more will adventualy come into existance, it will be impossible to contact them in our infintisimal existence.
Remember, we can only see 40 billion light years in any dirrection, beyond that, who knows.

The thing that drives me most is that people tell me that ill never be an astronaut. My love and passion for space will lead me to new heights, hopefully back to the moon or mars.

1) yes extraterrestrial life exists but i think it is either A) simple bacterias or B) so far away we will never find or know about it
2)I dont believe in UFOs
3)yes, but up to a point.. i dont think we sould spend billions and billions of dollars looking for something we most likely will never find
