AC Sims
The sims they used when i was at AC were old F-16 and F-4 cockpit sims. They had been changed some but they were essentially all their. They were all 2 seaters one for the pilot one for the RIO. I have seen some more recent pictures though that show new ones since i was their. Has anyone been their after 1997 and can tell me about the new ones?

When I was there in 1998 they projected the cockpit view onto the screen (the HUD was displayed), while we sat in a two seater cockpit with loads of buttons and even a tiny monitor for targeting (?). Two cockpits were single seaters, that is, one person sat in a cockpit, the other at a chair behind the pilot operating a computer. We also had canopies we opened and closed.
At the time the sims had major malfunctions (reappearing SAM launchers after resetting the game for new pilots to come in).

We never had any problems like that with the old ones. I guess the new ones still had a few bugs to be worked out.

They now have a week-long Aviation Challenge pogramme for adults - you should check it out! I'd love to do the week-long AC camp and the 8-day (yes... 8 days for adults too!!!) Space Camp one of these days.

I wish i could especially since the new 8 day program sounds awesome. Unfortunately for medical reasons i'm physicaly unable to do AC again. I could do alot of the stuff at space camp soon but AC is another story.

Sorry to hear that. Hopefully you will have a good recovery from whatever may have happened so that you can return with full strength and ability I have also had some setbacks that will keep me away from camp for a while, but I do intend on returning, even if it is a few years from now! Best of luck!
