John Glenn
Ok here it is 9 PM EST and i cant believe noone has posted about what happened 42 years ago today. Some of you may have heard of a little flight called Friendship 7 or known around NASA as Mercury Atlas 6. Well 42 years ago today that flight took place. It only lasted 3 orbits but by the time it was over it had achieved all the basic goals of project Mercury. It also made John Glenn a National hero but he wouldnt fly again untill October 1998 on STS-95.

It's on my Palm Pilot and I was planning on doing it at work today, but I was busy with TPS reports
.
That's a joke, by the way. It's from the movie Office Space. I was actually filling out RFO reports. Dead serious. The first one I filled out, I accidentally did on an older template, so my supervisor had to copy it over. You think I'm kidding, but I'm serious. It really happened.
