"You dropped your pocket!"

The place where campers hang out after a long day in the sims.

Have you ever called out "You dropped your pocket," "your socks are untied," or "those are the same clothes you were wearing the day after yesterday" while at the Sprocket Center?

"You dropped your pocket!"

Post by Repeat »

I'm just wondering about how many people have tried this on the unsuspecting tourists of the US Space and Rocket Center (Better known as the Sprocket Center to those that love and can't escape it). While sitting around in Rocket Park (or the museum, or in the Hab, or anywhere at all that there might be some gullible person), call out "You dropped your pocket," "your socks are untied," or "those are the same clothes you were wearing the day after yesterday," and see what kind of reaction you get. It can be pretty funny. One time, me and some other girls shouted "Your socks are untied" to this little kid near space shot. His mom (we presume she was his mom, anyway) comes over, looks at his socks, screams at us "NO THEY'RE NOT!" and grabs his arm and drags him off... That has to be the funniest result of that... That and calling out to the ASA kids on the first floor of hab 1 from the girl's floor - and having them fall for it!! That was pretty funny... They were in one of the other groups, we didn't like them very much...
Anyway, I was just wondering how many other people have done that.... I'm sure most people have done it at least once - or saw/heard someone else do it... If you have an interesting story about something that happened from it, I'd be interested in hearing it - can you tell I miss the Sprocket center already? And i've only been home for about a day and a half, not even....

Okay well I was on Smiley's team this past Christmas Camp, and needless to say, he says all of those phrases all the time. By the end of the week, no one on our team fell for it, but we did try to get other people and suceeded. This week, Jason did it a lot, but not nearly as much as Smiley.

A few years ago I fell for wearing the same clothes, but I don't think it was at camp. I see people fall for it all the time, though.

It couldn't have been Goddard... It must have been Von Teasenhousen or Von Braun.
But yeah, the similtanious "look down"... and then as we were ROTF, they look up and are all "Y'all are stupid!" but then again, THEY were the ones that fell for it... I will NEVER forget that, I seriously wish I had a picture of them and us.

Geez... I've never, ever seen, heard, or fallen for this... never at all. No clue that it ever existed.

how many times did you go to space camp/aviation challenge, though? And how many weeks in a row? And how many EALDs were you there for?? All those factor into your likelihood of hearing or participating in this "prank"... Plus the people on your team...

i've never fallen for it.... But I do so love playing it on unsuspecting tourists during EALD (which used to be much worse, when the programs were only five days, and the first week would end on friday, and the second program wouldn't begin until sunday afternoon... lots of time spent sitting out in Rocket Park, especially by Space shot...)

awww... they've only had it for like three years... And the first year, I didn't even know about it - though from what I understood, that year they didn't do much the first day that I hadn't done during EALD... But that year (2001) it was optional, I guess...

Becky told me they started it for the 20th anniversayr of Space Camp but after this year they are stopping it because it interfears too much with parent/child camp.

I've been going once a year for 7 years... but never done EALD. So I guess if that's where it usually happens, I understand.
