Apollo 11 anniversary

Post by Boomerang »

Well today begins the 34th anniversary of the mission that first landed men on the moon. 34 years ago today at 9:32 am EST a Saturn V lifted off from launch complex 39A carrying the CSM Columbia and LM Eagle. 4 days later they made the first successful manned lunar landing.

You beat me to it. Actually, I completely forgot about posting about it on the forum. I called the oldies station and asked them to play "Fly Me To The Moon," but they said they wouldn't.

If you stick around long enough for it to load, I made a little Flash intro on my site saluting the first Moon landing, http://www.biggestpaininthebutt.com

Yeah, they say they have the "Greatest Hits of the 60s and 70s." Fly Me to the Moon is from like '74, and it was a hit, but they said their format was classic rock. I think they should advertise that then.
