Astronaut Training eXperience

Post by Benji »

I got the following e-mail from KSC, I thought you might be interested:
Have you ever imagined yourself at the controls of the Space Shuttle, or
feeling the g-forces of spaceflight?

This is your chance to be among the first to participate in a new and exciting
program at Kennedy Space Center. The Astronaut Training Experience (ATX) is a
day long experience that is a combination of hands-on training and an in-depth
look at Kennedy Space Center. You even get to take part in a Space Shuttle
mission simulation!

http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/ATX.htm

Includes all program materials, full scale Space Shuttle mission simulation,
space training simulators, VIP tour of Kennedy Space Center, gourmet lunch and
mission polo.

SIGN UP STRAP IN for our new Astronaut Traning Experience...and because you are
a fellow Armchair Astronaut, you get full acccess at a discounted price!

Regular Price $200.00.
***Armchair Astronaut Discount Price $150.00***
When booking online or over the phone,
use the coupon code: ATX321
You will recieve $50 per person off the regular price!
It's a one-day Space Camp! Certainly Space Camp is better, but at least the old Space Camp, FL stuff is being put to good use. You should definetly check out their brochure (it has pictures!).

Between the gourmet lunch and KSC tour, there isn't much time for space stuff. It is only a 7.5 hour day. Space Camp is much more elaborate and much better.

that sounds kinda cool.
im going to kennedy space center in august when im in florida. that would kind of be cool for my family to do instead of just touring the place. actually one of the dates theyre doing that i will be down there. i doubt my parents and brothers would want to. im surprized theyre even taking us to kennedy but it was part of the vacation package with the car and room and stuff.

I like KSC. It's fun. If you're in the Tampa area, though, you should stop by. According to the mayors of Tampa, St. Pete, and Clearwater, "There's no better place to vacation," though I could think of a few.

Yeah, I think I'm gonna have to try it one day. I've been itching to get back to KSC so I might make a day of it and do this. I'm curious about the VIP tour of KSC but hey... at $200.00 ($150.00 if you're an Armchair Astronaut) and you've got a great deal going there =)

I'll have to check further into it but shoot... not a bad way to spend taht kind of money. Though, you're right, Camp is better... but still!! =)

I'll keep you in mind. I can't do the Astronaut Experience yet, as the days are not "work friendly" to me, but we'll see as my job ends some time in August. Otherwise, I'd just love to go to KSC again =)

I can't do the ATX (too much dough, saving for camp), but I can tour KSC with you. As I said, let me know.

I work promos for a local radio station, so I'm pretty flexible. I maybe going to a film camp for the end of July and most of August, so the sooner the better (unless you want to go after August).

Orlando is about 89 miles East of Tampa. I'm often on the East coast by Cocoa Beach. When are you going?

Oh sure that sounds close but with all of that traffic it takes like 4 hours to drive it!

It takes me less than 75 minutes to go from my house (the far side of Tampa) to Universal (the close side of Orlando). The only traffic I've enountered is on the way home during rush hour, but I know a few short cuts.

Oh, and I'll be gone through most of August, especially the 32nd-39th.

I never said that! OK, so I did say that. Yeah, it might take somebody four hours to drive that, if they're that stupid.

I really lost all hope when you replied to that post as if there was nothing wrong with it.
