My mom knows by now that I will buy just about anything and everything that they sell in the gift shop. It is my money, so she lets me take it.

Well i have gotten some great stuff from the gift shop i have a big NASA mug that i keep water by my bed at night every night so it gets lots of use plus alot of other stuff.

For those who have been to Space Camp, can you tell me whether you're allowed to take notes? Do they give you time? A logbook to write it in? What happens?

Well you can take notes if you can write as they talk. As far as a log book goes from what i've heard the log books have been refuced to photo copies of the old log books so my suggestion would be bring a small notebook that can be carried easily. They atleast use to give you a pin for wrtiing too but i dont know if they do that anymore.

Spending money is a great thing to have at camp. I usually bring about $100 with me. Just dont leave it in your room because you will need it if you do that. The gift shop at USSRC is one of the best NASA gift shops I have seen.

It's the budgets and stuff cuz they aren't doing that good in terms of money. They cut down the visors, binders and now probably the t-shirts are next.

I dont see how they could get rid of the t-shirts i mean otherwise you dont get really anything to show for going through it except the team photo wings and certificate/

I dont think they are gonna cut the t-shirts. At least I wear mine. If anything they should get rid of the logbooks that I cannot stand!

I dunno.......Anything can happen. Space Camp just needs more interested people to attend. I mean, most people prefer sports camps, but I don't. If only sports camps weren't so popular.........

Well they have a lot of my money. They shouldn't get rid of the t-shirts! I am sure there are some people out there that won't let Space Camp die.

That's why you should donate to them. I'd go to Space Camp every year if I could, but the air tickets are really expensive to go to Huntsville. My parents said I am only allowed every two or three years I can go once. The t-shirts are really cool, I hope they never stop giving them out.

I don't think the t-shirts are going anywhere...it's proabably pertty cheap advertising anyway.

Also, it's a great way to identify fellow camp alumni when you're out in the real world!

Yeah, the shirts are cool. If they're going to cut something, it should be the logbooks. There's almost no content in them anymore. They're pretty much useless, anyway.

The logbooks currently have diagrams of orbiters and orbiter panels, places for notes and addresses of teammates, places to right mission positions and other info. They used to have a lot more information (timelines, diagrams, etc), but they've cut it down.

Yes, the logbooks are useless. Just bring a notebook and take notes if you are really interested.

Well i guess I was lucky to have gone back when the log books were much better. My books the first 2 years were great. The Ac book was small but adequate for what it was used for mainly a checklist for sim sessions. But the book i got at ASa though nice wasnt as good as the ones i got my first 2 years and it was alot smaller.

If you have plenty of room left in your bag or bags, bring a water bottle because you can get dehyrated really fast if you are going to a summer session. Or you will have to buy one from the gift shop and wash it out there.
