Here is an article about a new IMB "Butler" that will be in cars shortly: http://space.com/businesstechnology/tec ... 30625.html My guess is that somebody from IBM watched the movie "Pluto Nash."
It is a cool idea, but the most important question is: Will it work? If people start using this thing and it doesn't understand what they're saying, they'll get distracted trying to get it to work properly. It could be worse than cell phones.
Perhaps during city driving, the driver's interactivity priveleges should be limited. I think this would make it safer.
All in all, though, I think this would be a cool technology, if it worked.

Indeed it would, but it would, in a way lower, how responsible a driver should be because a computer would be watching it. This makes the driver think the computer will correct every accident and mistake. It is technology that could change our world entirely, but the technology has to improve the human race, not make it lazier.
