Random Thought About AC...A Good Slogan?

A place for ACers to come and hang out after a hard day of escape-and-evade or survival training.

Random Thought About AC...A Good Slogan?

Post by Vincent »

So a random thought occured to me last night...for no particular reason, but does anyone thing the slogan, "Live Free and Fly" might be a good slogan for Aviation Challenge?

At the very least, I think it'd look good on the back of a T-shirt...

...or was that just the kind of bad idea that could only be found around 3:30am?! :D

I can't think of anything better, but I think they should change the AC shirts.

I didn't realize AC had a slogan either. I like that one. Does Space Camp have a slogan.

I was just about to ask that. I think Space Camp should have a slogan if they don't already have one.

Yep.

And imagine my surprise when it mysteriously turned up on AC California's T-shirts when some staff left AL to work there.

Check Six!

Post by Repeat »

I loved the counselor shirts that used to say "the best fighter pilot's aren't born, they're trained here. Check Six!", but I didn't see any this year... Anyone know where I might be able to get one?

Awesome teeshirt

Post by Repeat »

When I came in 1999, almost all the AC counselors had at least one of them, even if they ddn't wear them every day... And back then, the AC counselors wore green polo shirts, different from the SC/SA/ASA ones. I liked that better - then you could tell which counselors worked where. Two years ago, when I was there last, they still had the "the Best Fighter Pilots are not born, they're trained here. Check Six!" shirts, though not to the same extent that they did in 1999. This year, they got rid of ALL the cool shirts - counselor and campers! I'm gonna start harassing people to go to space camp until attendence is back up again... Bwhahahaha.....

They have all the same polo shirts now and that is sad. I remember when the AC counselors wore the cool different shirts. But so many counselors have crosstrained now that its scary. Space Camp is too cheap or just doesn't have enough money to make other polo shirts. The only time I can tell who works where is by what staff t-shirt they are wearing....or I can pretty much safely assume that they are an AC Counselor if they are wearing camo....

the old uniforms...

Post by Repeat »

It was weird though, that all the polo shirts have the same three symbols on them, so you can't even tell which counselors (in some cases, unless they tell you) have trained where...
I didn't realize the shorts were issued to them as well as the shirts until a couple years ago - I find that hilarious... I used to think they just had to wear khaki shorts, but then I saw a rack of their uniforms, and there were a bunch of shorts hanging on it... That's one way to tell the AC counselors from the Camp (and other top-side programs') counselors - the AC ones are more likely to never wear their shorts in a week, because they're always in BDUs or Flight Suits... Whereas the counselors topside will wear the shorts or khaki pants... But I still liked the different shirts to tell them apart. Ah well - we'll all just have to spend lots of money there, and help them to regain the money they need to bring back the things they couldn't afford (team shirts, the better books...)

AC counselors have a grey AC (AC logo on left breast, AC written on the back) shirt for the week. Space campers wear one with the Space Camp logo on the left breast with SC written on the back.

As for trainees at AC, the team shirts became a storage issue. there was not enough room in the warehouse to store 17 different team shirts in 5 different sizes anymore.
