Fountains of Paradise

Post by Benji »

86-year-old Sir Arthur Clarke once predicted when a space elevator might be up and operating, "It’ll be built 10 years after everybody stops laughing... and I think they have stopped laughing," he said.

$6 billion is the estimated price tag for the Space Elevator, of which the 2nd Annual International Conference was held several days ago. That's less than 6% of Bill Gates' riches. If I were him, I think I'd jump at that investment opportunity.

Anyway, here's the Space.com story (make sure you see the pictures and animation): http://www.space.com/businesstechnology ... 30917.html
Ad astra per aspera.
