Twice voted "The Most Trusted man in America". Dead at 92.

I never watched anyone else during the space race. The only time I ever saw him speechless was right after the Apollo 11 landing on the Moon.

I was surprised when I saw an ad commemorating him. I hadn't realized what happened. It's a shame for him to die so close to the 40th anniversary of the landing.

He was the voice of news for me, growing up in the 60s. It was the only news program my father would watch.
