Yay! I will be completely distracted at work for the next hour or so - hooray!

Any-who... back to my 'attempting to work while watching NASA TV' mode. Fingers crossed!

Hooray!! Way to go NASA! Space shuttle Discovery and her crew are on their way to the International Space Station! Yay!

Now... it's back to work for me... with NASA TV running in the background, of course!

Cheers!

I watched all the pre and post launch stuff on NASA TV so i could get the actuall calls and whatnot. However, i watched the actual launch from ground to space on CNN because i didnt want the delay that streaming provided for me. It was a beautiful launch though. I was also very excited about the new live ET SEP footage!

I was able to sneak down to the lunch room TV with a few of my co-workers from a few minutes before liftoff till after MECO...I'm just amazed at how everything seemed to fall into place so well today, even the weather! Everyone mentions how cool the external tank cam is :)

My lucky brother went back to Florida this week after being down there for the last attempt, coming home, then going back. This is one of the eight pics he sent me...enjoy!

Being that its the return to space I'm sure that the return to earth will be covered at least in some form. If you cant stream it off of NASA TV check CNN as they often covered shuttle happenings even before the Columbia accident.

I think it's going to land early in the morning. Around 6 or 7 am eastern time on Aug. 7, but I could be mistaken.

I really dont believe that it will be grounded that long though... I think with all the brains at NASA somebody ought to be able to find a stronger binding agent for the foam or some way of keeping it on the ET. I think the term 'grounding' is more for the public peace of mind than it is for NASA.

I dunno, the word "foam" and the speed "17,500 mph" just never really mixed to me..
