problem...

Post by CastAway »

So, I have a problem... whenever I get here, I'm already logged in, then when I click the (formerly) convenient new-post logo rigth in front of a post that has been updated, it takes me to the latest unread post in that thread... and logs me off! I then log back in and have no more new post markers... this never used to happen...

Yup! It works! For the record, did you do anything, or did this have to do with that whole server switch thing? If you did something, it'd be nice to know for future reference, as a friend of mine used to run a forum where this would happen to me, not to mention I'm planning on opening a website of my own sometime soon.

I actually did something for this one.

...having (wrongly) assumed the domain was properly pointing here now, I altered the board's settings to reflect that.

Turns out this hasn't quite happened yet, but it did for you at the time you accessed it last, which is just as good.

It might happen to you again...I had to change some settings back as the domain still isn't pointing to the right server for everyone (including myself at times).

I'll grant that this hasn't been as smooth of a transition as it could have been. I do apologize.

Hopefully, all will be resolved by the end of today.

okay...problems should be fixed now, but if you still have any sort of issue, do the following:

1) Log out
2) Flush your cookies
3) Log back in

All should then be well.

Actually, I recommend the following one-step option:

1) Just keep using Firefox and never go back.

Vincent- Good work it seems to be fine now! Thanks!

MNathaniel-
If you knew how many times i've heard that (actually i've said it a few times too).... Firefox is fine for people who cant seem to safeguard themselves against... well anything, but if you can handle a little bit of protection IE works fine and runs everything correctly as opposed to firefox which i still use occasionally. Not to mention its slooooowwww.

I use Firefox because it's faster (umm... hmm...) and because of the tab browsing. I couldn't live without the tab browsing anymore.

I guess it would depend on both your internet speed and how much RAM. The moral of the story is that firefox is cool but IE isnt that bad either.
