It'd be sweet if someone made a movie about Space Camp. They could bring all of us on as technical advisors.

Wishful thinking, maybe.

They did make a movie about space camp although i would call it anything but realistic. And another one is in the works based on the book A Smile As Big as the Moon.

I mean a movie about what really goes on at camp, a fun one. A Smile as Big as the Moon is about special ed kids succeeding, which is great, but it's a Disney movie.

Considering Jerry Bruckheimer is doing it and having read the book i think it will still be good even if it is a Disney movie. And a real life one or even a good documentary on camp would be good. We had an earlier suggestion to do a real life show like Bug Juice at space camp following diffrent treams from diffren programs.

I think that's a good idea, but it'd probably have to be Academy or Camp teams because most ASA stuff would be too... inapproprate.

Well, the book has been optioned to be made into a movie.

That doesn't necessarily mean it's going to be made though.

I really hope they do make it. Any Space Camp movie is a good movie.

I have read somewhere online that they are actually working on the script and screen play for the movie. Ofcourse even doing that it could still be years before they actually make it.

Yeah I think camp or academy would be better though. For a CHILDREN'S movie. I think the ASA experience may not be quite g rated.

Well the one based on the book would be ASA if done as it was in the book. But yeah their would also be more to film as far as activities and simulators with camp and academy then ASA it would be more intresting.

Well maybe if they did it with Camp and Academy, then they could get actors that are the right age. It is always interesting to see 25 year olds play high school kids in movies...like Grease for example. They were all in their 20's or 30's.

They should come to the Sprocket Center and follow around a team for a week - and if it ends up being rated PG or PG-13 (or, EEK R...), then oh well... I think Advanced Academy is the coolest (though I never did camp, and I only did Academy once...). They really probably wouldn't even need to write plot - there's enough that goes on by itself... Who flirts with whom, who gets in trouble for this, that or the other thing, people who can't stand each other, people who get hurt, etc... Of course, they could also just write an interesting (and more realistic) movie about space camp.... Either way, I agree - any space camp movie would be awesome!

Yes, but there are the non-crazy kids (not me, of course) that go to camp too! We want to boost attendance...not make it worse! A bunch of people like me running around camp without sane people to balance it out really scares me.

aw, but the crazy people make it fun for the sane ones... well, at least, I do... And besides, it's the camp that made me crazy - I used to be a nice, normal, sane person.... And then, in eighth grade (1998-1999), the year after my first summer at the sprocket center, I went crazy... I still think it's something in the food!!

AHHHH!!! Not ANOTHER Mexican Wednesday!! OMG, I was so lucky, Oberth 42 - we had our EDM through lunch on Wednesday, so we missed Mexican Wednesday, and I only had to suffer through one of them... YES!!! HAH!! Of course, i've had it in past years... I think my last EDM allowed us to miss one of the decent meals - possibly burgers...
