Space Camp on DVD - just got the DVD and watched it.

I just got my space camp DVD in the mail yesterday and finnaly watched it tonight. I have seen the move many times before so many times infact i can practicly quote the whole film from beginning to end. Although the DVD only had one extra on it i still enjoyed it and recomend it to anyone who has a DVD player. The only extra on the DVD was the original theatrical trailer which i vaguely remember seeing around the time of the film's release. Its still one of my favorite films from my childhood. And its the film that let me know their was a place called Space Camp to go to although it was another 5 years after the movie came out before i went.

Yeah, the DVD's certainly worth buying (I've had it since it came out!), I am a little disappointed with the disc itself. While I'm impressed that the disc contains both the fullscreen and widescreen versions of the film, I'm very disappointed that the widescreen version of the film isn't anamorphic, as I heard it was going to be...

Further, I would have loved to have a cast & crew commentary on this disc, and a "making of" documentary would have been awesome!

Well, I guess if they ever come out with a special editon, I'll be purchasing that disc too!

well i just bought one for my room for only $80 USD!! i am now looking for dvd's for it so maybe i'll get spacecamp.

Space Camp is worth buying even if the only extra is the movie trailer.

Well if you already have a comercial copy of the VHS tape its just as good as the DVD the only diffrence is the DVD has the theatrical trailer on it. Only reason i got the DVD was my only comercialy made copy of the movie was on an old Beta tape. And for those of you who are familiar with those you know they dont make them anymore. For those of you who arent they were smaller in size than VHS but never really hit it big on the east coast.

That's not the only difference!

The DVD has the widescreen version on it as well as the fullscreen version! All of the VHS tapes produced were just the fullscreen version.

The SpaceCamp Laserdisc was also sported a widescreen version...but Laserdisc never really caught on...

I would have loved the DVD to be anamorphic as well but I'll take what I can get. I'm surprised that they even released it on DVD so I won't complain one bit

At least some company has the rights to the movie that WANTS to release it. =) Yay for Anchor Bay in this regard. BOO to Anchor Bay for changing the box logo. HOw dumb.

My only complaint =)
