All My Bags Are Packed...
...But I'm not ready to go.
Regardless, I'm sitting here at the Huntsville International Airport waiting for my flight to take me from this home to my other one (thanks HSV for the free Wi-Fi access).
Regardless, I would like to take this time to thank all of the great people I had the privilege of working with and working for.
For those of you that missed me when I left, I must apologize for slipping out this morning.
The summer slipped by so fast. But I have the memories and the pictures to prove that I actually lived and worked at Space Camp for a quarter of a year!
I worked at Space Camp, and it was an honor.

I am somewhat embarrased that I really missed saying my "good-byes" to a lot of great people before I left.
I really didn't want to leave, and the summer went so fast. Every "good-bye" just made things stink that much worse. So I avoided it, and slipped out.
So to all of those thinking "the good-for-nothin' just left without even saying good-bye to me," I do apologize.
But somehow I doubt my time at Space Camp is over, and I'll be seeing a great many of you in the future. I have that feeling.

When does Christmas Camp start? It sounds fun, but I want to see my family in Florida, too!

OMG I'M PUMPED
I am originally from Illinois. I grew up in Lisle, next to Naperville, Chicago west suburbs.
Story: I applied & was accepted to aero engineering at Michigan, Illinois, and Purdue. All are comparable schools. I had a full ride to Michigan through a Navy scholarship, and was all prepared to go there, but my mother said it was too far away and I needed to go to Illinois. I said, "Okay, Mom, for you, I will go to Illinois." Three months later, she moves to FLORIDA.
Anyway, my parents have lived in Florida for 3 years so I don't see them much anymore. I miss them lots, and I bet Space Camp is saturated with counselors for the Christmas camp, so I guess coming back in December isn't an option.
But where I AM going is to the X PRIZE IN CALIFORNIA! OMG I AM SO PUMPED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you don't know what the X PRIZE is, go to http://www.xprize.com/
It is a competition with a $10,000,000 cash reward for the first team who:
-Privately finances, builds & launches a spaceship, able to carry three people to 100 kilometers (62.5 miles)
-Returns safely to Earth
-Repeats the launch with the same ship within 2 weeks
I am going to the first launch in California with a club at UIUC, the Illinois Space Society. We are volunteering in the VIP area, which means I will be meeting and greeting space VIPs like Paul Allen and Burt Rutan-- and I will be able to view the launch from the VIP seating area!!!
We leave on Tuesday, Sept 28 and come back on Wednesday, Sept 29.
The launch of SpaceShipOne takes place at 7:00 am on the 29th.

The thing that drives me most is that people tell me that ill never be an astronaut. My love and passion for space will lead me to new heights, hopefully back to the moon or mars.
